Day in the Life in Oakland

OAKLAND IN THE DUMPS, LITERALLY...THIS ALL HAPPENED TODAY IN OAKLAND: - Just on the news a severed and mummified HEAD was found in a dumster on E. 18 St. in Oakland - Oakland Police Chief 'retiring' for 'medical reasons.' Poor Howard Jordan having to deal with people like Mayor Quan - and her ilk. I figured it was just a matter of time. Hey, and whatever became of the 'Super Cop' that helped clean up New York and Los Angeles that Oakland supposedly hired a few months back? I'm pretty sure they ran him off not letting him have the tools he needed (such as more cops and profiling) ... - Favorite, Old time restaurant burns down. As soon as I heard the lead on the news that a famous old restaurant burned I guessed it would be the Merritt on the same E. 18th Street where they found the head, above... Coincidense? Maybe not. The Merritt, in a mixed area, has not done well for the past couple decades but it is an iconic, decent restaurant we still like to visit for old times sake. The city has supported it for years. Could have been an inside job. Who knows. I doubt they will replace the Merritt this time, which leaves only one or two old time restaurants in Oakland. - Eigth grade student violently attacked a teacher today in Oakland school SEE VIDEO OAKLAND IN THE DUMPS, LITERALLY...THIS ALL HAPPENED TODAY IN OAKLAND: - Just on the news a severed and mummified HEAD was found in a dumster on E. 18 St. in Oakland - Oakland Police Chief 'retiring' for 'medical reasons.'
